Duke Welcomes Manny Diaz as New Head Coach

In a significant development for Duke football, Manny Diaz has been named the new head coach, succeeding Mike Elko, who departed to take the head coaching position at Texas A&M. Diaz, previously the defensive coordinator at Penn State, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Diaz inherits a Duke program that has shown promise the last two years. Duke went 9-4 in 2022 and started the season 5-1 before injuries started to affect the season. He will now be tasked with continuing what Elko started the last two seasons. The Blue Devils did lose a lot of players during the offseason through the transfer portal and Diaz will need to recoupe those losses by recruting well. He will also need to get some players from the transfer portal as well.
